Debt Settlement while continuing to pay student loans

I know that when one stops paying credit cards it is best to stop paying them all at the same time. Does it matter if I continue to pay the student loan? I don't want credit card companies to see I am paying my student loans and decide to not work with me.

Have you consolidated your loans with the Direct Loan COnsolidation Loan Program yet? The income contingent contingent or income based repayment makes paying much more affordable.
