Multiple Medical Bills

I am lost in medical debt and don't know what to do or where to start. My state taxes have been held for at least 7 years by the same hospital, yet there are other hospitals that I owe thousands to for surgeries along with regular doctor bills floating around. Should I get a credit report, call places, I don't know. Even paying $10 a month per bill will cost thousands of dollars. (I was born with pfieffer syndrome and epilepsy)
