Why??

I paid my AMEX business account in full last June. Then I cancelled the account. Why is Nationwide harrassing me on the phone? They tell me I owe more. Is this legitimate? AMEX stopped sending me paper statements. I knew I had the debt and I paid it off. This is driving me up the wall. If you know anything about this please let me know. They bother anyone who answers the phone and asks them for information about me. I hope it stops soon

Maybe YOU should call amex and talk to them....and talk to nationwide while you are at it. It is not going to stop until whatever balance gets paid or you properly dispute it. You leave it alone and AMEX will sue you.
Do you have the documents in writing from AMEX which you receive
Do you have the documents in writing from AMEX which you received after you had paid off the debt? It could be anything, transaction records, PIF letter, etc. You need to dispute this with AMEX asap.
