Palisades purchased our charge-off credit card from Chase. The charge-off debt is listed on my credit report by both Chase and Palisades. I have been paying Palisades on this debt for two years. They keep adding interest to the balance so I feel like I will never be free from them. I talked with them today, and they said that they would stop the interest if I allowed them to draft my bank account. I do not feel comfortable with them having access to my account. I do not have enough money saved or I would just offer them a settlement. What should I do?

You are right. You shouldn't give them the details of your bank account so that they can access it. It will be better if you could offer them a settlement. You should contact them and start negotiating for a debt settlement on your own. In case, you find that you're unable to negotiate with them for debt settlement, you can take help of a debt relief company in this matter.
