Got a call out of the blue shortly after 7am on my cell(have only had the number for about a year). Young guy on other end says he's about to serve me and unless I call an 877 number, he's in my neighborhood! So of course I call and get this Paramount...one guy says they have evidence that I stuck a Payday loan place back in 2006 and never paid. Ironically, I had filed Chap. 7 in 2005 and included in my Cert of Service were some payday loan companies. None were contested and I discharged. Fast forward 7 years later, my credit score is 700, I bought a house, can get 0 financing on a car, etc...i'm not proud of financial past but have worked hard to rebuild. But this guy on the phone claims that this payday loan they have was taken out in early 2006. I immediately contacted my former Chap. 7 attorney..he sent them a copy of my discharge with creditors on it---but then I got the most abusive call from a thug like character telling me that this payday loan claim they have was not part of the Chap. 7...When I ask could I please see the claim or the check, he's telling me he doesn't have to..it's me and then proceeds to harass me on what a terrible person I am for all the debts I discharged back in 2005! Repeated calls..abusive language...I finally told him my atty would only be handling any conversations.
Has anyone else had any dealings with this PRG or this payday loan scam and what route should I take...already they have called two days before the 8am "no-call" rule...I just really want these "thugs'" shut down!

Got the same call, had the same situation. I show that it was discharged all the way back in 2002.. Then one of the thug types called back to give me a hard way to go. I offered to send them a copy of the discharge papers. He made a remark "You own property, and we'll put a lien on your house" and hung up. I just love companies like this.....If they are a true collection company, the records they use are way off.
