Calculation of Days Past Due
Date: Thu, 04/09/2009 - 08:26
How do credit card companies calculate this? I'm doing much better about asking them each call how many days past due I am, and writing it in my notes... but it seems to me that the story changes sometimes.
For example, I know I am two payments and change behind on Citi. So if each payment is a 30 day cycle, that's 60 days... and maybe another week or two... so let's call it 70 days. Last night when I asked how many days past due I am, they told me 53 days.
I'm just not tracking to their methodology of doing this at all. So here I am trying to wait it out until 90 days or so in hopes of good settlement offers, yet the credit card companies seem to be sand bagging their delinquency days.

What was the last date of payment that they have on their record
What was the last date of payment that they have on their records (when you talked to them, not just on your statement)?
