I've 3 credit cards with huge debts (around $25000) which have increased over time with interest charges, and now I'm not in a position to pay them off. One of these cards is even charged off. I want to get rid of my debts. The creditors are behind me and are threatening to sue me. Is filing bankruptcy the best option for me? How can I get someone to pay off my debts?

??? "How can I get someone to pay off my debts??"

Not sure where you're going with this question, but on the surface, my response would be...legally, YOU are responsible to pay your debts.

If you'd like to share more info about your situation, perhaps we can assist you further.

Marry rich?

You either file bankruptcy, go into a debt settlement or debt management program. Or you could pick up a second job. Only YOU can pay your bills....no one is going to do it for you.

I think you mean to ask, how you can get a good debt settlement company that will help you to pay off debts. Right?

Whether you should go for debt settlement or bankruptcy depends on your income and how much you can manage to pay per month. Even if you go for bankruptcy, you may not qualify for Chapter 7 if you have a stable source of income. We can help you out here if you can give us more details.

Most credit card companies will offer you some sort of payment arrangement, whether it be lowering your interest rate or minimum payments, waiving late and overage fees, and some of the bigger ones will even settle your debt themselves. However, if your faced with a company thats not willing to help you, i would find a reliable debt management or settlemet company that will deal with them for you. Those people are much more pleasant to deal with. Because unlike some cc companies, debt settlement companies realize that we do not have buckets of extra money lying around that we just dont feel like sending into these people, and we dont appreciate being treated as such.
