Budd Hibbs has a great site about dealing with collectors. I use it as a reference almost daily to help people on this site. His list of "agencies to avoid" can tell you what to expect and how to deal with some of the worst. He also anwers my emailed questions in a prompt and courteous manner. He is a real consumer advocate whose attitude is: "Never pay a collection agency, period".

Steg,I have been unable to verify Bud as being an attorney with the Texas State bar.He is registered with the state as a consulting company assisting with credit/debt. The other name I won't mention relates to a debt settlement company.Since he is not registered here,it is not allowed to link him anywhere here.

Budd Hibbs is not an attorney but is a very compassionate person in regards to the practices of debt collectors. I sent in a complaint in regards to Rannefeld & Associates, CACH, LLC. He called me personally and told me how to handle the situation. Go to his website: Buddhibbs.com I believe is what it is called and fill out the email section and he will get in touch with you. He's a wild fire guy. Good guy to have in your corner as you fight these debt collectors.

I too was calling sifxpert but i did not leave a message. once i did, he returned my call right away. he responds to emails immediately also. i recommend him over anyone else i spoke to. he will tell you also that he is very difficult to get on the phone so emailing is the best way to get in touch. he is not like the others that pressure you to sign up right away. no upfront fee with sifxpert also.

Has anyone used these companies/people, with success? What is their fee, if any? Good or bad experience? Please let me know. Thanks.

Quote:

The owner of Budd Hibbs website is a consumer attorney from Texas who mainly writes his experiences on different collection agencies. He has a website mainly focusing on the CAs and it's very helpful for the consumers

Budd Hibbs is NOT an attorney, but rather a Consumer Adviocate and author of at least one (but ithink a few more) book son dealing with credit and collections.

Some people in the past have questioned his advice. I have personally talked with him about a problem I had, and he seems very knowledgeable, and concerned about helping people to understand their rights AND responsibilities with credit, debt and collctions.

I don't see my response to this post so I will post again. Budd Hibbs helped me in my situation and spoke to me at great lengths. He is very knowledgable. If you leave an email message on his website he will personally contact you.

I have followed his advice and so far so good.
