I received a letter from Midland Credit management and when I called to inquire as to who the creditor was, I was told by Midland Credit Management that they did not know who the creditor was and I was to pay the debt regardless of the fact that they could not tell me who I allegedly owed the money to.

These comments are untrue.. We provide ALL the information we have, I know because I work for the company myself... I help people everyday and I actually take pride in helping people that want to help themselves. I have been in the very shoes you guys have been in and thats why I know for a fact that #1 we treat all our consumers with respect (we have a team to make sure that we do so), we follow strict FDC regulations and laws that protect YOU, the consumer! We have tons of payment options that HELP people from the less fortunate to the more financially comfortable and stable people. We do things that other companies dont...we FREEZE INTEREST, OFFER SETTLEMENTS THAT REPORT AS PPAID IN FULL TO HELP YOUR CREDIT. WE ARRANGE VERY VERY FLEXIBLE PAYMENT PLANS AND HARDSHIP PLANS... We situate accounts and disputes that other companies should have before transferring the accounts to us. I have a great relationship with all my consumers and while I am proud and happy for them I hate to lose them once they have accomplished their goals. I am truely dedicated to my people and im glad to say that im proud of the job I have!!

ah, yes....the famous Mdland shill.....

Look, pal, let's you and me get one thing straight here and now. Youre not going to convince anyone that MCM is honorable--especially by lying here. Many of us, including me personally, have dealt with MCM. Simply put, your company is a disaster. MCM contacted us a few years ago, claiming that we owed them money on two credit cards. We do not believe in credit cards, so right off the bat we knew something was off. Less than two weeks after initial contact, I sent MCM certified dispute letters requesting that they validate. No validation came. But more collection letters did--and sometimes 14 calls a day....all of which are ILLEGAL. We will continue this story as we see what other rubbish you posted here....

.....so, back to my disputes. For the longest time, MCM kept insisting to me that we never disputed with them....even though I had the USPS signature cards to prove it. Then, they changed their lie.....their story went from "the law gives you 30 days, we allowed you 45 days, and you chose not to dispute...." to "well, I see here that you did dispute, but you filed your dispute too late. Since you disputed outside the window that the FDCPA allows, we dont have to stop calling and we dont have to provide you with anything....now pay up."

Doesnt sound like you provide anything but grief.....

MCM doesnt help anyone but themselves. MCM insisted to me that I had to "prove it wasnt my debt". There is NO provision in ANY law that requires the consumer to prove to the CA that it isnt their debt. The law SPECIFICALLY requires Midland to stop collecting until they validate in my situation....and they refused to.

Finally, you say something we can believe. More than half of all debt collection employees have bad credit themselves.....

Really?? Then you would LOVE to listen to the recorded phone calls I have!!! Specifically with "Frank", who claimed to be a "supervisor".....he tried to tell me the same old "you disputed too late" line too.....he said, "I'm reading it right off your file right now, you did it too late."......a funny thing happened next. I demanded that he go through my entire file with me on the phone. He was looking at the computer, and started reading right from the beginning....and WOW, WHAT DO YOU KNOW.....all of a sudden he stops in mid-sentence.....and says "wait a minute.....it says here that we received dispute letter on (date), which is not even three weeks after we first contacted you...."

WOW...check that out!!! I went through more than a year of hell from your company.....FOR NOTHING. Then, I asked him if the screen he was looking at is the same screen that his callers see when they are on the phones...he said YES. So, all the threats of garnishing my paychecks, threats to actually have my wife arrested(yes, you read that right and I got them on tape), and so on and so on.....all for NOTHING. ALL ILLEGAL. Youre not gonna come in here and fool anyone on my watch, son.

The two accounts I was called about totaled less than $1000 combined...and I was told to shut up and pay my debts. THAT ISNT HELP. And the REAL kicker is that neither of the credit cards was mine! More on that in a minute....

Like what....getting sued into dropping all complaints against consumers in entire states?? Like in Maryland, when MCM was sued in a class-action suit?? They settled it by agreeing, in part, to drop over 10,000 alleged debt cases against MD consumers. Minnesota followed suit as well, with that state's AG announcing last year that Midland was found to have been targeting people that didnt actually owe the money. The MN AG's office found that MCM didnt even properly identify the proper debtor--they would go after people with similar names, and then demand that the CONSUMER PROVE THEIR INNOCENCE. Gee, sounds awful familiar to me......read for yourself...

Who lied to you??? Marking a bad debt as paid in full does NOT help credit---a paid collection is still a collection, and whether it is settled for less or paid in full it is still a negative mark on the report. In many cases, on older accounts, any update at all actually HURTS the credit more than if you had left it alone completely.

WE ARRANGE VERY VERY FLEXIBLE PAYMENT PLANS AND HARDSHIP PLANS...

Sorry, thats a load of BS. I was actually threatened that you would have my wife ARRESTED if we didnt pay within two days.....on an account we properly disputed.....that turned out to truthfully not even be ours!!!

MCM couldnt even handle MY dispute with THEM, let alone other companies....

I can guarantee you that MCM was NOT sad to be done dealing with me.....funny thing though....a recent check of credit reports shows that your company recently started reporting these two debts again on my credit report. I guess we need to go back to district court again.....

You cannot be THAT dedicated if youre in here instead of on the phones, threatening some old lady on disability that youre gonna take her silverware and her pet poodle if she doesnt pay someone else's debt that's probably past SOL anyways....

Midland employee if you are here to help people and you been in the sames shoes why do your company report wrong information on the peoples report and not only that i have an account with you guys I called trying to resolve the debt. The first contact I had with someone very very nasty to me I never once raised my voice and I still received treatment as if i was a low life.

You can't be serious with your comment. First of all YOU or YOUR company have NO contract with the original person that owes the debit. YOU really think that calling someone after 4, or 5 years from when the debit was written off constitutes speaking on behalf of the company you CLAIM to represent? Then why does YOUR company not produce the ORIGINAL contract, or the alleged contract where you were hired to collect a debit? Call it what it is, you call and threaten people with lawsuits, make personal nasty comments on voicemail etc and all you do is BUY outstanding debit and try to capitalize on people ignorance. Good Luck, I look forward to the court battle SINCE I KEPT ALL my original documents, recorded harassing phone calls and have statements from individuals you called and gave, in detail, information about me trying to collect the debit.
Thanks

I have been getting calls from FBCS. I just talked to a supervisor named Kevin. Who was very rude and told me that he could do anything with my debt, he could lower it , he was the one in charge and not to mistake his kindness for weakness, Is this Co. for real? Supposedly I owe a debt to this company, I paid this company off in 2007. So now, because I didn't call and get a receipt back then, that was my mistake and now its a debt still owed. He said he couldn't search the system to see what I had paid. So now I am making a complaint to the B.B.B. What else would you recommend that I do. I've read you comment and now am very concerned about this company. Also is Midland Credit Management the same company as FBCS Inc.?
