* Update. I closed my checking account yetserday and opened another one. So now all I have to do is see if they will let me pay them by money order because all that debiting randomly on my account is not going to work.

Be prepared for them to tell you they don't accept payment by money order, I've been told that by all the pdls I have dealt with. The way I look at it, I'm not giving them my banking info. again, and why should I have to pay approx. $12.95 to wire money to them? So, I'm sending money orders and they'll either take them or not. I haven't heard of any pdls returning uncashed money orders, has anyone else?
If you still need the info for Maryland laws, pm me and I'll send them to you.

Yeah, no way they are going to refuse a payment. Cash Transfer tried that and I said "you are telling me that your company will refuse a payment to my account?" and she said "um, well, um - we will not refuse payment but this is how we prefer you send it"
OWNED!!!

The bank account is closed. So, if Route 66 Funding wants to get their money back, they have to work on your terms. And it is obvious that you are willing to pay your debts. Have a proof of all the arrangements by doing the communication in writing. If Route 66 Funding tries to manipulate, you'll have proof of your actions.

Yes I will def do everything in writing. But I don't have a valid address for them. I hate to do all this correspondece and have some dummy address know what I mean? Also the number I had for them keeps giving me an error tone & message. I'll look on the forum and see if I can get a better number & a real address for them.

Update...
My freakin account is NOT closed. Ugh...my bank, well the rep I spoke to yesterday failed to tell me that I had pending authorizations so they could not close the accout out until they came through...he does not know when the authorizations will fall off (the money has been taken out to pay them, but the stupid authorization won't fall off till who knows when- so says the bank rep).
So i ask if they can block future debits- he says they can but if they do then the other authorizations will be blocked- I said so what, they were already paid, he says some technacality about how the 'system' works.
How annoyingm so I ask if they can block ACH debits/credits and he says no, they can only block debits as a whole. **sigh**
Now I am scared that the authorizations will not fall off by Friday and I will be hit with a bunch of random charges again. My pay check MIGHT not go to my account, but it might at the same time.
I am so scared, this is a freakin rent check and I need it. Payroll says that they are not sure if they caught the check in time so to call Tursday and they will know if the check was posted to my bank or was cut as an actual check.
I am hoping that the authorizations post by close of business today- at the latest tomorrow, so I can close the account and just let the check revert back to my company and get a paper check by Tuesday.
This whole thing is giving me a headache. :(

True, a bank cannot stop a transaction once it has crossed into cyberspace territory. However, I know that some banks will prevent future ACH's IF you talk to the manager of a local branch personally. I can only speak for my bank (Bank Of America) but they said the branch managers are the only ones with the discretion to stop all future ACH's.
Did you get the PM yet?
