I called Pinnacle about $154 debt and they sent me to another collection agency, asking my soc sec each time and then a third CA with rude guy who told me the debt was from 1998, but they had bought it and updated it. I had wrote and disputed with the original company! It was suppose to have been removed! Then the guy wanted my newest phone number. I hung up!! I will call the original company and find out why they kept/sold a debt that was suppose to be finished.

You can contact your original creditor and try to clarify the matter with him. As far as the CA is concerned, you should ask them to validate the debt if you're not sure whether or not they own the debt.
