my debt was with national city which became pnc. i think it's about 8K. I actually stopped keeping track of these cc debts - anyway, they put me on some reduce pyment /reduce interest plan at $230 a month. (they are crazy) so how do I go about demanding a settlement with them and have any of you had luck with them and for what percentage? and how far behind (how many months were u) before you asked for settlement?

You can check out the steps to settle the debts on your own with the debt collectors from the given page: http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/steps.html . Normally, the debt collectors may settle your debts for 40% - 60% of the original debts owed. You'll have to be 2-3 months delinquent on your payments in order to convince the lender for settlement.

i am at about 90 days with PNC and their CSR offered me 60%. i can't do that, unfortunately, BUT she is the absolutely most disrespectful person i have ever dealt with. i have had a solid credit rating for 30 years but lost my job and have been unable to find work in quite awhile. i have had this account with them for all that time and never been delinquent.

i offered PNC 30% for the longest time. They would not accept. I told them that this is the last time I can offer because all my possessions now have been sold and I have nothing left. They refused. and they were very very mean to me. Lest I explain.

Today, I got a settlement offer from PNC in the mail for 35%....I can't pay it. and the 35% is higher than settlements that I made with five other CC companies.
