sending random small payments a good or bad idea

In November I lost my job and committed kiteing,(which is writing a bad check to self). The check was for $500.00, due to bank fees now I owe almost $700.00. Now IC systems call me everyday. However, I was wondering if I can randomly mail money order and keep the recipts for proof/evidence.

You can send random amounts but should the bank choose to sue you, making small payments wont prevent them from doing so.
