Good Morning,

I have just found your site. Last year I feel behind on 4 credit cards totaling about $20,000. I was able to reach a payment arrangement with one of the companies but the other 3 were writen of and sent to collection agencies.
National Action Finacial Services - Owe $6300 - They are willing to set up a payment arangment for 130mo over 60 months. I candle this but they want my bank account info to set up the payments? What should I do?
Weltman, weinberg,&Reis - Owe $6700. I have sent them a letter stating what I can pay on a monthly basis - Waiting to hear back - Any suggestions?
Bronson & Migliacicio - Owe $8400 according to them $9700. I have offer to set up payment arangment but they want a huge down payment that I can't manage. They are threatinging to send the file to the attorney to proceed with a suit.
Need some help here. I want to kepp everything out of the courts. What do I do about bank information?
Any info helps.
Thanks

Welcome to the Community Mike :D Ladybug is right- don't give them your bank account info to be on the safe side.

Don't know about the others, but WW&R are asociated with LVNV, and don't like to play fair. The had told me in the past they would accept a settlement and didn't. This was before I found this site, and didn't get it in writing. Have recently dealt with them again-still not playing fair.

I am assuming that you have sent them a debt validation to make sure they have your debt?

If you register with the site, it's free, you can take advantage of the free credit counseling.

I have told Ca that I am not giving them my account info- and sent payments with a money order, even to the ones who said they don't take money orders and they have never sent it back.

Feel free to ask question-we are here to help and guide you.

Only you can make the decision of what and who to pay or settle with, but make sure they have your debts and you get any and all in writing..Karen

I am now signed up and will start using the site more effectivly. I didn't send the DV letter since it has been past the 30 day mark. I know that NAFS is holding the debt. I verified it through the original creditor. I am just very nervous. I want to make things right but I can't strap myself either.

Welcome!! You are right, don't strap yourself when deciding to make payments. I have always set a fair payment arrangement, some take it, some don't. They will always ask for more-if you don'thave it, tell them what you can afford-but get the final agreement in writing, that way, a few months down the line, they can't say that you are'nt paying them enough!

Good Luck to you..Karen :D

If you aren't sure if the other companies have your debt and can legally collect on it- send them a DV. I have been dealing with a CA for almost 2 years, they pass it around and around, especially now they know I know my rights as a consumer.Keep all correspondence and notes-you may need them.

WW&R didn't validate mine-but my original contract was signed 23 years ago.

I am not saying to not pay your bills or what you owe- just that to make sure the right people have it and can collect. If you know this to be true and they won't accept payments- I ahve sent them reasonable payments by money order, kept track of the balance, and they never have turned them down. I also sent a letter with each payment, made copies and said this is payment #1 for xx dollars which leaves xx dollars balance..KAren This is rather confusing-hope I didn't make it worse for you

Let them know that an unreasonable payment plan is being proffered to you. Yet, ALWAYS and I saw ALWAYS make a counter-offer to them, they always shoot high to make it somewhere in the middle, especially if it's an attorney. If you leave it open, they won't do anything as they most likely think you're b-sing them.

I have offered the companies what I think is a fair payment plan. They say I owe $9700. I offered $150 month over 65months with Balance paid in full at end. They told me that they could let me do $260 a month if I had $1000 to put down. WIth the holiday I have no spare money. I am sending out DV letters today. Also with NAFS they have accepted my payment plan but say they need back account info to do E-checks. I am going to offer to do money orders, what if they say no?

I had some that said no to money orders and wanted my account info- I sent them money orders anyway, with a letter saying this is payment #1 for xx dollars-did that until it was paid off. They didn't refuse my money--but make sure you make copies of the money order and any correspondence you send..Karen :D

Don't hold your breath on WW&R- search on this site- others have dealt with them-some have been taken to court. It's important you know your rights and they follow these.

It is a relief when you get these behind you, just don't over extend yourself like I did once- then wasn't able to make the payments!

Good Luck..KAren
