i too received the email stating that i was refusing to repay a loan and that they were going to use check recovery to see if i had a bank account and if so they were going to take the money i live in nc and i have closed one account and opened another one except with the same bank i also have an account with my husband can they do this the account that i have with my husband is used for only paying the household bills and my other account is where my check is direct deposited its thru my job does anyone know if they can do this please let me know asap

Legally, no they can not do this. Do they do this, unfortunately, yes. If you are at the same bank they do it by using your social security number, some banks allow this, some don't. You should put a hard hold on that account which prevents any withdrawals unless you are doing the withdrawals.

I didn't join your rip off group... I do not owe any loans to any rip off companies... I want my money back now...

This is going to the State Attorney General's office and to the Banking Commission. This is just plain wrong...

This is not a post. I want my answer in an e-mail... you know the address since it appears you were into my computer.

I was in total shock when I found out this company got a hold of my checking account number, I never put my checking account number on line. I called these obnoxious people and belive me they are obnoxious. I called my bank and now have to go and fill out an avidavidt to see. These people just cannot go in and take money out of your account with your your permission. But the law will be involved with this company. I don't know how these people sleep at night

I recently requested reversal of two payments to pd6venturefunloan, after payments of $900 for a $300 loan. Apparently this loan shark outfit has changed names. I was recently overdrafted by loanshp/westbury.
They have attempted within the past week to withdraw over 1200 dollars. I'm glad I don't have any money. I'll pay the NSF fees and close the account. Did you know you can change you Social Security Number? I will be doing this tomorrow.
I know I've learned a very valuable if expensive lesson....

I just saw that loanshp/westbury took several hundred dollars out of my account without my permission. I will be filing charges.

If this happens to you file a claim with your bank and they will fight it for you and reimburse any nsf charges (depending on the bank). Per the bank, this company cannot dip into your account without your permission. IT IS AGAINST THE LAW. This loan they say I owe is something I received in '03 and paid back by the end of the year. Unfortunately I don't have receipts that far back but I am contesting this because I REFUSE to pay something I've already paid!

The SAME thing just happened to me... This low-life ripoff company or individual just screwed me out of $390 and caused me $425 in overdraft fees!! A week ago, I had $150 taken out of my account and three small $1.00 charges. Now, I have to fight my bank to get my fees returned to me and sign an affidavit and wait until they feel I deserve my money back.
Needless to say, suntrust bank does not care much about their customers. This is NOT the first time someone has ripped me off and stole my hard-earned money out of my account. Now, I have to practically threaten to get a lawyer involved to just get MY own money back from my own bank!!
I tell you what... Im just paying my bills in person. NEVER again will my bank account or credit card info. be entered in a single thing online!!!
Unbelievable how some people have nothing better to do or NO talent enough to earn their own money, they have to STEAL from honest people.. and I am a single mother of 2, the youngest is 6 months old.
Thanks for taking food out of their mouths.. losers.

The SSA does allow a change of SSN in identity theft cases, etc etc, but it is not a very effective way to go because your old SSN is cross-referenced with your new one. So, changing it in this manner will not do any good for a third party scammer such as we are talking about in this thread. I actually would advise against doing this because it means you cannot get a passport, among other things, because you wont have the documentation with a new SSN that you had with your original, which normally goes back to when you were little.
