Do you have to have good credit to get it rehabbed?
What's the difference between rehab and refinance, can I refinance for 9k??

I haven't heard about car loan rehab.
In refinancing, you take out a new loan at a favorable interest rate to pay off your existing loan. The refinancing amount will depend upon the lender.

earlier this year i contacted my auto loan finance comp which is nissan... i have never been late, never missed a payment over 4 years.
i had no problem getting my loan "modified", as they only checked my account with them, they did not do a credit check via the credit reports..
it all depends on who your finance company is, your credit with them, how long you have had the loan, etc as to if they will offer you a modification....
all you can do is call and ask them if they do modifications or not and explain your hardship..
ask your current auto loan carrier about doing a "modification"
ask your current auto loan carrier about doing a "modification" to your current loan.. that is what i did earlier this year with nissan... how nissan works, they look at how long you have been paying on the loan, your payment history, and they do not check your credit reports... i had no problem getting mine modified and got the paperwork to sign within 7 days, signed and returned... my payments went from just over $400 a month (only had 9 payments left but i had to do something to free up some cash outgoing), down to $160 a month for 18 months... i figured up if i kept making the regular payments the total i would have paid in the 9 months, then at the new contract for the total that would be paid over 18 months, and it was actually less than the 9 months total !!
remember you have to say the word "hardship" to attempt a modification and you will have to give them the reason for your hardship...
it is worth a phone call and a little time to ask...
thanks, general, I appreciate the info, I will def try it, I've
