Hi everyone.... i'm new here as a member, but i have been checking out this site and it seems like its very helpful to us with debt issues. I'm not sure if i'm in the right place but here is my question...
I'm ready to start fixing up my credit and pay off my debt and i'm looking for a debt relife/consolidation company to help me out. However i have heard so many horror stories about consolidation companies that i'm scared to even start. I'm looking for tips and referrals or just your experiences with debt relief companies as well as what i should be expecting from them. what should my first step be??? any help would be greatly appreciated... thanks!!

Hello and welcome the site, this is a very wonderful place flooded with information and people ready to help you. This site has truly been helpful to me, I was in tears when I found this site. Since you have registered with the site a credit counselor will be contacting you to discuss your options.
Here is a link that talks about the benefits of Consolidation.

It is okay to be questionable about places. I would defiantly talk to a couple of places before making a decision on who to use. I have had my share of bad experiences with a consolidation company (not one referred by this site). You can also check out nfcc.org, they have a list of non for profit companies that are available in your home town.

Welcome to the forums FiFi, I would also recommend to check out any company taht you plan to do business with. Check BBB, Attorney General, Secretary of State and get their record. Hope all go well for you. Best Wishes KYSIDE38
