Well, they sure don't waste time. I have faxed and emailed them several times stating the law of Maryland payday loans. I guess they are ignoring them. They sent me an email via Northway Financial stating that I now owe them 566.00. They have already listed me with teletrack, and state that this will effect my current creditors that also use teletrack. Oh, and they have already initiated contact with my payroll department. I'll have to call her tomorrow. It's from a Gurprit Gill in Malta.

What should I do now? Call them?

Have you contacted your attorney general? I would do that first thing tomorrow, if you haven't already, and let Sonic know that you have them investigating their company I would also call your payroll department to give them a heads-up. In case you signed a wage assignment with Sonic, tell your payroll department that you revoke the voluntary wage assignment authorization. Follow that up with a letter. Did you send a PDL template letter from Pollyandsay's blog to Sonic? You have to be aggressive with them. Just remember, they're the ones in the wrong. You have the law on your side. They can bluff all they want (and they're very good at it), but legally they can't touch you. From what I understand, Teletrack is the system other payday loan lenders use to decide if they will give someone a pay day loan. This is different from Chexsystems, which is used to determine your eligibility to have a checking account. I don't think you have to worry too much about Teletrack.

I would contact your AG before you call them back in the A.M. They are just full of hot air and are trying to scare you. Do like dbaker6 said and be sure to contact your payroll department. That is all you need while you are trying to make them pay. Are they debiting your acct or have you closed it?? If they place you on Teletrack, you can dispute it, and if something comes up and say they are not licensed in your state, then they will have to legally remove it. Have you got a updated copy of your teletrack report this year?? If not, you can google it and it will take you to the site, then just order it. I did and I got mine in about 1 week. Good luck, and continue updating when you talk with them.

Are you refering to Sonic Payday? PM me because I dealt with them several months back. I went round and round with them. Mail, e-mail, fax a letter to Sonic stating that you are revoking the voluntary wage assignment with them. Also, get ahold of your payroll department immediately to let them know not to authorize this assignment. I did this with my payroll department and they were fine with it. I just told them it was a creditor that I was having problems with and no more explanation was needed. I'm sure your payroll department can let you know more information on what you need to do for this but don't waste any time. Sonic can be very aggressive and they don't obey state laws.

I don't think I would deal with them on the phone. They just get nasty and really don't say anything of value. I would just keep bombarding them with e-mails. Others have done this, and eventually they give in. If they feel they've hit a nerve and that there's a chance you're going to pay their outlandish fees, they'll keep on.

I received the same email, but mine was from Paydayavenue, which is another dba for Sonic. It was telling me how much I owed and that I have been reported to teletrack and they have initiated contact with my employer. This was about 2 or 3 weeks ago when I received the email. The first thing I did was contact my payroll dept. I also had Dennis from Langhorne Law fax a revocation of wage assignment to my payroll dept. I check with payroll once a week just to see if they have received anything from any lenders trying to garnish my wages. As of yesterday, payroll hasn't received anything, and the email from Paydayavenue was 2 or 3 weeks ago. I'm not saying they won't try to garnish your wages, but you need to get a letter to your payroll dept stating that you are revoking the wage assignment just in case they try to :D

I would agree with the excellent advice that Mishelle and DBaker have provided, but let me add my own 2 cents. In my personal experience with this lender, I was very lucky. I was harrassed at work and was told that my payroll would be contacted--but found out later that since my employer had received so many voluntary wage assignments from Sonic, they chose not to honor them and were sending them back. And so many have been sent back from my employer (which has 10,000 employees, btw) that Sonic stopped sending them!
So a key part in making sure that the playing field is level with these people is ensuring your payroll dept's cooperation.
Also, bear in mind that they probably aren't licensed in your state, so their threats, while not meaningless, lose alot of their bite, if you get my drift.
We all want to pay off what we legitmately owe them, but don't want to be held up either. It's important to know your rights and stand your ground.

dbaker6 .. how can you tell people " You have to be aggressive with them. Just remember, they're the ones in the wrong. You have the law on your side."

what did the payday company do wrong exactly? give people money when they ask for it? IN FULL. and there in the wrong for wanting it back and being aggresive getting it back? too funny.
