Applying for a loan and saw this HSBC/RS on my credit report. Who, what,when, and where did this come from. I have no revolving bill with them. Who is HSBC/RS and how do I take care of this?:?:

HSBC RS stands for HSBC Bank, retail services division. As far a

HSBC RS stands for HSBC Bank, retail services division. As far as I know, they were into predatory lending earlier. If you did not had any account with them, then you need to contact HSBC to remove HSBC RS from your credit report.

If you had read the articles properly Anna, itwas the mortgage divsion that was into preditory lending, not the retail services division.

OP...HSBC issues cards for these companies Best Buy, Bon-Ton, CompUSA, Costco, Helzberg Diamonds, Neiman Marcus, Saks, Sony, Yamaha and so on.

Thank you for your comments Soaplady... Well??? There was a disgraced predatory lender Household International which was purchased by HSBC Bank in 2002-2003. After being sued for predatory mortgage lending, Household International turned to credit card and retail services as a source of revenue. As far as I know, HSBC RS actually stands for the whole of Household International. So, I wrote that they were into predatory lending earlier.
