getting out of debt w/o running credit

i've gotten myself into horrible credit card debt. i want to buy a new house in 2-3 years, but know it is not possible with all my debt? my credit score is still o.k b/c i keep making payments on time. is there a way to lower or get out of this debt that won't hurt my credit like bakruptcy?
