This forum does not lend money only advice on debt. What type of debt do you have? I think that you have bigger priorities than worry about your debt right now, it can be put on the back burner until you get your life straightened out and not be homeless. Are you working with a counselor or anyone like this yet? Are you on the street or in a shelter? How did you get internet access?

If I were you I would try getting the job and a place to live before I worried about the debt. If you don't mind can you tell us how you ended up homeless? There may be some programs out there to help you become self sufficient again. Where are you currently residing?

I agree, first priority is to find a job and a place to stay. I would also check with your state and see what programs they may have to assist you with getting back on your feet. After that, and you have stable income you can determine your budget and then work with your creditors.

hello lessailor! very sorry to hear about your problem. like everybody else i would tell you to get hold of a job. this will straighten out things quite a bit. does your state has any special privileges for unemployed people? then if you have multiple debts, try consolidating them as this will reduce the late fee charges and any other extra cost. if your lawyer told you not to file for bankruptcy then there must be a particular reason. ask him what other options do you have. do keep informing as things get better. i am sure they will. good luck.

i ended up homeless due to a bad job,and even worse landlord, long story, i work with a place called megellen behaveral health, i used up all unemployment insurance $$$$$ thank you yes my sister in calif is pushing big time for a loan, but as you folk, you need a place and income, thanks again les sailer. :)
