I was served a summons that combined 2 accounts

Can anyone help me. I was served a summons that combined 2 accounts from the same bank. I settled on one of the accounts but did not have the funds available to settle the larger one. My question is - can they still take me to court on the summons that has both accounts or will they have to file a new summons?

as far as I recall, the summons is fine as it is. In your answer to the summons, I would be sure to bring up the fact that one of the accounts is settled, and be sure to include proof of this with statements from when you settled it. That way, you can avoid any chance of the court imposing penalties on you for a debt that was already settled.
