behind - small CC payment repercussions

I've been optimistic (to them) about our financial situation, but it has not resolved itself.
I don't quite know what to do. I only have about 20% of the current balance saved and they haven't offered any settlement. They keep pushing for a payment plan (which I can't sign up to because I need to pay for the roof over my head and food on our table).

Who is your creditor? What is the current balance that is 120 days pas due?
A small payment will sometimes stall your account from going to the next department but not always. It kind of depends on what the minimum amount due is right now. I tried to stall an American Express account a while back by making a "good faith payment" of $30 which wasn't even close to the minimum amount due. It did nothing for me; they sent my account to a collection agency anyway at only 90 days past due.

Today the bigger card (35K) mentioned a $250 payment and getting me into a program. They are sending me the paperwork for the program, for me to fill out in case I can make the payment by the end of the month.

I just dealt with BofA myself in February and settled a $40K debt for $6500. They wanted me to get into a hardship program when my account was at 90 days past due but I just told them I could not afford it. When it got to 120 days past due they started talking settlement.
Is there any possibility of you coming up with at least 20% of your balance by the time the account gets to 150 days past due? My understanding of BofA is that they will not charge off your account until it is at the 180 days past due mark.
