When settling am I required to supply a Statement of my income to the lawyers that I'm settling with? It seems so intrusive. I thought that they should consider it on the merits of what I'm offering please advise

I wouldn't; yes it is intrusive and there's no point to it, it's not like you're qualifying for a loan of any kind. Settlement is haggling - take the attitude of take it or leave it. You'll be surprised when you call their bluff.
