Debt Consolidation Company telling about SOL

I received a call from debt consolidation company today.
And I asked a question in regdras to SOL.
Ok, I have been educated since I surfed this community thanks to you all
that after SOL ran. Creditors and collectors cannot go after the consumers.
Did I get it right?
Yet, this debt consolidation company told me that they can go after me forever.
And there is no such SOL in any states...
I hope I understand SOL right...
There is a SOL in every state. Just because it is past the SOL,
There is a SOL in every state. Just because it is past the SOL, doen't mean they still won't try to collect, or that you don't owe- it means that they can't legally collect.
What alot of companies do is, after the SOL is up, and you ask them to validate- they sell it to another company.
I had a company that tried to come back and collect on a hospital bill 12 years after I paid it off. Of course, by that time I had no record of it being paid off. The collector calling me whispered, don't say where you got this info- but write a letter to us saying this has been paid in full xx years ago, and to cease and desist any further communications with us. I did- and I never heard from them again. But before she told me that- they passed it around for 3 years, and I went through this...Good Luck.Karen

That is interesting that a debt collector told you what you needed to do. That just proves that some of these people do have hearts and know that they are harassing people endlessly.
