I have gotten threating letters & phone calls saying I was being sued & they said they had filed at the court house. I have not gotten served anything. Do I have to be served for it to be legal? Does the court have to notify me of the case or can they just do it blindly without me knowing it? Without a judgement can they still get into your bank account? If you pay something but not as much as they want does that stop the judgement or lawsuit? Need Help ASAP. Thanks

If they have really filed lawsuits against you, then you ought to receive the court papers. You'll be notified about the case. I will suggest you to visit the county court office and check whether or not any case has been filed against you. No one can garnish your wages/bank account without securing a judgment order against you. If they have really filed a case against you, then it will be better to settle the debt out of court.
