:( I suffer From Multiple Sclerosis In November of 2011 I fell ill and wasted all my PTO at work. I fell behind on a lot of cc payments.I .was pregnant with my third child. To make it worse i was really sick. I finally was able to go on maternity leave which was a blessing because like i said i have MS. I was able to rest but I thought would be able catch up with temporary disablity payment. However my disability took forever to start. I tried to explain to FIA my hardship. They usually send you a letter saying your behind and that if you dont catch up they will close your account but i got nothing. They close my account and ruined my credit score.I BEGGED them not to that, things will get better if they gave me a chance to make it better. Well they didnt care. All my other cc gave me a chance to catch up. Even though they also closed my accounts i was still able to catch up without ruining my score. FIA could care less about the customers issues even if you were with them forever and never missed a payment. So even though you were always on time never gave them a problem they dont look at how long youve been with them and how well you were on time with your payments your history means nothing. They are just mean people and very cold to you when you call and ask for a chance to make good on your account becuase your were sick i am back on track and my son is here and beautiful im bad at work and on my medication that i could not take because of my pregnacy i would of made good on my account by now but like i said they dont care about people lives now i cant by a house for me and my son because they ruined my credit score which will take forever to fix

Ok....BOFA/FIA did NOT ruin your credit.....you did. They are a business and you did not pay as agreed. You have a chronic medical condition and you should be prepared for periods of time you cannot work. That coupled with a third pregancy is NOT their problem. Your other accounts will be reporting negatively too.
Sorry if this seems harsh, business is business. Having children is a personal decision and their is nothing in your cardholder agreement that states they have to be nice when you take maternity leave and cannot make your payments.
