Got a summons in the mail...Is it too late to settle out of court?
Date: Tue, 07/05/2011 - 07:50
We received a summons in the mail for an old card. The amount is a little over $1600, state of Maryland. We can't afford to take it to court and I don't know what to do.
Should I try calling the company and making payment arrangements?
I received a letter before I even received the summons from a company called Franklin Debt Solutions who, for $200 can make payment arrangements for me and handle everything, but if they can, why can't I do it myself?
Just don't know where to go from here. Need help. :(
