Switching Phone Carriers considered breaking terms of consolidation contract?

I know when I joined my consolidation company, I agreed not to open any new credit lines while in the plan. Does that include cell phone plans? I really want to change carriers, but I don't want to damage all the hard work I've put into my debt plan. I have 1 1/2 years left on it & I don't want to wreck it! Any advice/ideas?
