I received a letter in the mail that said I was denied a target credit card. I never enven applied for one. I got a credit report that says someone tried to get a card in my name. I want to make sure that Target knows what has happened.

First off sounds like you need to put a fraud alert of your credit report. I would contact the corporate office of Target to let them know what has happened, and provide them with a copy of the decline letter if needed. Something doesn't make sense, because if someone was trying to get a card in your name, they would want to use their own mailing address, otherwise the card would of been sent to you. Are you sure someone in your family didn't apply for one?
