Being sued

Served papers today that I am being sued. The papers do not say what for or how much. Am on Social Security Disability and have no idea what this is about. How should I handle this?

How were the "papers" served? By a sheriff, certified mail? or
How were the "papers" served? By a sheriff, certified mail? or just a letter in the mail. Just exactly what does it say? There should be court information listed if this is a genuine lawsuit. Please provide additional information....
