afni on my credit report

i recently got a copy of mt credit report and afni was on it. what is the account for. never heard of it.

Contact the customer care of the collection agency to know whether any of your account has been assigned to Afni. If they claim that they have been assigned with an account of yours, then ask them to send a debt validation letter. You can get all the required information from there. You can negotiate a settlement after that. However, if you don't receive a debt validation letter from them, then make sure you send a cease and desist letter to them via certified mail. Alternatively, dispute the information with the credit bureaus and dispute the information with them.
