I would call up the recovery area (likely their internall collections dept) and try to work out a settlement. Can you afford to pay 30 - 60% of the balance due in a lump sum in the next 30 days?

I sent a settlement proposal to their recovery center today outlining what I can afford to pay. I can do the 30% in payments, but it's just getting them to answer that stalls everything. I am going to call them again also, once I think they have received the letter. I want something in writing from them and also something that shows I have tried to contact them, meaning a second letter. I settled a HSBC Direct Merchants account the 1st telephone call with no problem.
