Cap One bribing me with $50

Bribery
The first paragraph on the back says "This gift card is issued by Metabank. It is not affiliated with Capital One and Capital One does not provide, endorse, nor guarantee and is not liable for any product or service shown here". If it's not affiliated with Capital One, why are they using their logo, etc?
Is Crap One contracting this outfit to bribe me?
One paragraph on the front of the letter says "When you call to discuss your account, you can activate this $50 "thank you gift card"- no strings attached. Use it to buy gas, groceries or a gift for yourself. Whatever you prefer. It's your money.
This is one ruthless bank and I don't trust them whatsoever. Probably, an attempt to lure me into a trap.

Greetings Rozo,
Wow and I thought "Linda" was a crappy scam!
You are correct referring to it as a trap......trapital one!
Sounds like they want to guilt you into paying just a little bit......and then it starts all over again.
Please keep us posted on this one.

I had this same offer. I called and was able to make arrangements to bring my account up to date over 4 months. I only owed them about $1200 at the time and they refused to settle. Since I had settled my other accounts, this was not a big deal for me. I made arrangements and had the $50 which I DID use for gas! My account is now current and I owe only $900. (Maybe this will help my credit score?)

I still smell a bait and switch trap. I owe them a whole lot more than you, so I guess this may work for some, but not for all.
