If a bank account is levied because of a credit judgement, and you have $100.00 in there and they take the money, if you close out that account and stop direct deposit will they garnish your new account as well? Do they just follow every account until the judgment is satified? How many times can a bank account be hit? If you live in a state that prevents wage garnishments should one just cash their checks at the store instead? If there a limit on how many times a collection agency can hit my bank account or can they only do it once?
The court order covers the entire bank, not just one account. I
The court order covers the entire bank, not just one account. If you move to another bank they will probably find it too....they simply send blanket court orders to every bank.
