HELP! I'm in DESPERATE NEED for ANSWERS to my credit card debt problems ASAP. I had excellent credit only a few years ago with 18 accounts in good standing and a FICO score of 780. Since losing my job and failing at freelancing from home I now have racked up $7,000 outstanding debt on a BOA card and $7,000 on a U.S. Bank card and a few thousand spread out on a few others (total about $17K). I got a 30% Settlement offer (verbal) from BOA finally after falling 160 days past due which I plan on accepting before the end of next week or they say it may be charged off--even though I heard it charges off at 180 days?

What I really need some URGENT advice on is the U.S. Bank credit card. Its about to be two months past due with $350 due now, but they said if I pay $170 by 2/17 at 5pm CST they won't report it late. I'm trying to decide if I should pay the $170 or wait it it out for 5 or 6 months til I can get a Settlement offer?
Or should I accept the U.S. Bank Hardship program at the reduced rate of 7.4% and $109/mo?
I really can't afford even that with no job yet and less than $100 in the bank!

I asked about a settlement offer and they said I don't qualify at this time, but they asked how much would I be able to offer? I said $1100 in a month or two. Then they said if you can pay that, than why not the $350 or $170 now? I said because I don't have it now.. Then she redirected the conversation back to making a $170 payment to stay current..

Question is: Should I let the US Bank card go past due and wait for a Settlement offer or should I take the Hardship program for 12 months or just make a $170 payment? They say it will report tomorrow. I don't want to hurt my credit anymore, but I really can't afford the Hardship program right now and am told they will still report it late for 6 payments anyway?! Any advice for U.S. Bank? Please help!
