We have been receiving threatening letters and calls from this agency. When we request a copy of the original contract, they keep saying it needs to be paid now! The debt surfaced a year ago and a letter of dispute was submitted. However, they continue to send notices. The debt is not ours, it started as $7,500 and now it's $5,416.26! One rep said it was a loan and another rep said it was a Master Card! We have never had a Master Card in our married life! We always use VISA! What do we do to stop this?

let's look at the OP again shall we.

1)the debt is not theirs
2)they already sent a DV letter
3)FNCB is a complete pile of dirt that violates the FDCPA,and has been sued for that before.

now my only questiions are these.

1)do you have a copy of the dispute letter?
2)did you send it certified mail?

you really need to look into compiling evidence against this piece of dirt and sue them yourself.also look into your state laws in regards to recording calls.if you are in a one party state you can record their stupidity without informing them.if you are in a two party state they must be informed you are recording.i just think sending any further letters is a waste of time as again this place is a complete bottomfeeder that throws %^&* to the wall hoping it sticks.they need to be sued.that is the only thing places like this understand.they won't abide by a C&D.so why bother?
