I am being sued in NY by debt collection agency. They stated that it???s from a 2007 account the purchased from HSBC, but the this account is at least 9 years old, from when I graduated college. Can they still sue me? Does SOL apply in this?

for one who is suing you?second the poster above me needs to be more clear.if the SOL is up and the plaintiff illegal re-aged the debt then you must go to court and use that as your defense.the way unregistered puts it.the court is just gonna dismiss it due to that fact.no since there is a summons issued the OP must go to court either way and bring up the re-aging,and the fact that this is past SOL.the court isn't going to do that for them.great way to get a default judgement unregistered.
