I have been reading much of the dialog for debt settlement with Discover. I am current with my minimum payments but simply can not afford to keep this up due to the economy like so many others. I have a stellar payment history with them. In fact I would have paid off the actual balance already without the interest being added. My rate is ridiculous and it was not from missing a payment or being in default, but from being late. And those times were few and far between. I need to get out from under this noose as everyday it becomes harder to meet my commitment. Will being current help my plight and would I still be better going to On Core for assistance? I have beem a member with them form 10 - 12 years but the last 4 years have been the problem.

One missed paycheck and I will be in default unless I want to move into my car and not pay my rent. Basically I am insolvent but have tried to do the right thing - is there no where to turn until default is unavoidable?
