Does Chase have an official charge off date?

I have had several Chase reps tell me that they "typically" charge off at about 180 days.

charge off is at 180 days past due. It's an accounting functionn for IRS purposes that says they have to write off any debt after not being able to collect for 180 days. at that point it is deemed uncollectable. But they keep trying to collect it so don't misinterpret the term.

Your account gets charged off after 180 days of delinquency. After 180 days of missed payments the creditor writes off the account as a loss, and hands over the collection power to a collection agnecy.
