unemployed today, huge debt

i got discharged from my job, certified nursing assistant...had a background check done,,,and the boss did not like what he saw on it..it does not effect my job,,company polices..i was discharged , not fair,,but not a protected item.
looking for job, 22000 unsecured debt..cc, dell computers.
hopefull get a job soon, thought its tough, even in the health industry....too many cna,s out there, and companys reducing work force...
i don,t want to do bankruptcy, debt settlement seems bad too. there is a new plan, 60 month thing that just got approved by 10 companies,,,but dell computers , cit bank, is not on it..and dell is a big problem....someone suggested curadebt.com.....settlement company.
would it be better to just call the creditors up, and see if they will reduce my interest, and possibly my principal....unless i get a job..i cannot pay them...the 2 dell accounts are now going on 1 month overdue, and careone debt cosolidation is dec 8.....with no money,,,,i am sunk. its hard to deal with thins,,because everyone has an opinion. good and bad about everything

it is always better to deal with this yourself if at all possibl
it is always better to deal with this yourself if at all possible. first call them explain your situation and see what they can do for you. alot of companies have hardship programs that lower the interest rate and such. if you can swing that do it first. if you cant, then you will need to start discussing settlement with them which you can also do yourself with the informaiton provided on this site. if you dont think you can handle it yourself then by all means use a company but be sure you research them fully. good luck to you!
