Payday customers beware: When you try to fight the lenders about stealing and overcharging your account, they will come back with a bogus comment. Sorry everything is so jumbled. This is a BBB filing against United Cash Loans. Be prepared, they will try to make you look stupid.
I accepted a loan from United Cash Loans for$300.00. I allowed them to have my bank account information to debit the payments. They continued to debit payments and are still doing so. A letter dated November 23,2009, requested that they discontinue any debits because I discovered I had paid them double what they were due.First,internet payday is illegal in DC. The lending laws apply to storefront check cashers. According to the District of Columbia lending laws, there is a 24% cap on how much can be charged. I have asked this company to produce a money lenders licence, which you must have and they have not done so. Therefore, I only owe them the principal. I asked them to return my $645.00 and they have not acknowledged my letter. These payday companies are so sneaky and they operate under different and fictitious names. Sadly, many stemming from Indian Reservations. I just want my money returned to me because as far as I am concerned,United cash loans has done nothing but steal from me. They just sent me another reminder the other day, a payment of $125.00 is due. I OWE THESE CROOKS NOTHING!!! I want a refund and a letter stating that the account is PAID IN FULL.
Consumer's Desired Resolution: I would like my money refunded in the amount of $645.00. Why am I paying $995.00 for a $300.00 loan? Senseless. I have learned my lesson. I want a refund in the form of a cashiers or certified check. No bogus stuff. I have written my state banking commission and the attorney general of this state. I want a refund. Thank You.
