Can the CC go affter my spouses money?

I have 45k in debt, both my wife and I took pay cuts, but she has very little debt, execpt for the mortgages, we have no joint accounts we have a rental house were she pays the mortgage to keep current because the tenant lost his job and pays about half until they cut their taxes back.
I am wondering if they can try and get her to pay more towards the bills (electric, rent, insurance) so i have more money to pay them\????

I have been advised by CC companies that a spouse is not labled
I have been advised by CC companies that a spouse is not labled for unsecured debts created by the other spouce. I'll be interested to see what other advice come in but from what I have been told the answer is no. That isnt necessarly the case if you are suid and jusgments are recorded against real property. I "think" once a judgment is filed then the joint property muddies the water.
I will be meeting with an At in a few weeks and this is one of the questions I need cleared up as we plan our escape route.

If you live in a community property state then technically "yes" they can go after your spouse. It is unlikely the CC company will do this on their own. However, if they get a judgement they could seek garnishment of your spouses wages if you don't have any.
