My husband was just served papers to appear in court for 7500.00 by Asset Acceptance. There is nothing on my husbands credit report showing this debt. And we think his brother stole my husbands ID and opened it. How do I go about getting proof this is my husbands debt or not?

Since he has been served papers, he must file a reply to it to avoid getting a default judgement. Along with he must also file 'motion for discovery' which will reveal the facts about the debt. Please ask him to contact the county court for details and assistance.
