Is it fair to say they:( normally don't settle before chargeoff and will more than likely sue at some point???

I'm not sure- kind of in the same boat as you at this point. I called two days ago, 121 days past due (one supervisor had told me that settlements weren't even considered until after 120 days past due so I called once it passed 120 days past due). They still didn't have a settlement even as an option for me at 121 days past due, only a 3 month re-age program or to pay off my minimum balance in 2 monthly payments. Meanwhile my BOA card that is being handled by Redline Recover offered a 35% settlement (one lump sum)- I had to take it, so now I don't have $$ to settle the Cap1 account for another month or so. I sure hope they don't sue me...over $3000? seems stupid to me but I've heard time and time again that they don't seem to care how big the account is...

You're not alone! Hang in there!!! I started with 8 accounts, after yesterday's dealing with BOA/Redline, I'm now down to 4 accounts left to settle. It ain't easy, but just imagine the feeling when it's all over...
