Me and my xwife got a credit card a few months before we split up. 4years ago we setteled all our property and she was going to take care of it. But the court documents do not go into detail of who took what loan. She went bank rupt they came after me for payment. It bounced around collection agencys till one of them took me to court and got a judgement aginst me back in July. I'm barley maken enough to eat after paying childsusport and rent and electric. I need to respond to tge law firms letters but don't know what to do.

If you together have applied for the card then you may be responsible for the debt. Unfortunately filing bankruptcy by one spouse doesn't extend the protection to the other one and hence the creditors can seek payment from the other spouse. I really am not sure that there is much that can be done now by you when the judgement has been placed.

Have you been served properly? Have you attended the hearing? I am just trying to make sure that the judgement hasn't been placed fraudulently against you.

first i would suggest following scs advice if in the event you are still resposible for the debt (which i believe that you will be sorry) i would start to talk to them about either some type of payment arrangement or settlement agreement. it is refund time maybe you can agree apon a settlement to make it go away. one lump sum of say around 30% of the origional debt to make it go away.
