I have 4 cc to settle with and looking to make lump sum offers. Is it in my best interest to tell each creditor that I have other crediters to settle with and only have a specific limited amount to offer. Therefore, If they don???t accept my offer, I can???t promise that I???ll have the lump sum I originally offered after I get done with the other crediters? Thoughts?

I have not seen that reasoning make any difference with the OC. They have guidelines to follow about when to accept what percentage of the debt. If you run out of money to settle with them, as your reasoning, they will simple sell your account or sue you and garnish wages and/or lien property and bank accounts.

I think you should tell them after you make them an offer they do not accept. I have other accounts to settle and if you don't want my offer I will call the next one on my list. You have some time to work things out, if they are in a hurry to sue you, then you can offer them a settlement after you receive a summons. They do not want to go to court.

I agree with Guest59....but please join the forum. Your input is valuable. Anyway, if they can see from your cr that you have several to settle, they will believe that you will walk. If you additionally tell them you are going to file bk if you cannot work it out, they will be more inclined. Of course, the first level individual may have no authority beyond the approved settlement on their computer, so ask for someone with authority. Good Luck.
