New suit for older debt

My question is that i defaulted on credit card debt about 3.5 yrs ago in MD. 3 creditors filed suit against me but were dismissed since they were not able to serve me. now the statute of limitation has expired can they still file new suit against me for the same debt? I appreciate all the responses.

As far as I know they could try to file a suit and hope that you weren't aware of your rights. You would need to file a motion to dismiss on the grounds it is past the SOL.

Anyone can file a lawsuit against anyone else at any time. It would then be your responsibility to point out to the court that the SOL has expired and ask it to be dismissed with prejudice. If you are served, it should be pretty easy for you to make it go away.
