I just found out that I have a judgement against me for a student loan that I am still paying on. The judgement is on my credit report. What is this and why, when I'm still paying on the account? Can it be removed from my credit. The judgement was in 2007.

A judgment is a court ruling against you that becomes an obligation to pay. It can either be the result of a trial or in the case of a "default" judgment it is because nobody showed up to argue the case in your behalf. It is likely a matter of public record. Judgments can sometimes be negotiated after the fact, especially if it is shown that one cannot pay it.
