How are these accounts reported in your credit report?
If you really want to settle, the obvious thing that you can do is to call the creditor and settle with them. Try to negotiate, if they would agree, to delete the negative information from your report once you settle.
They are just reported as profit and loss and that is it.

sick of this
im so sick of people telling people in debt to demand what your credit report will say or better yet to demand paid in full, the pee on reps over at these places cant change the legal binding info the settlement letters, be lucky if it actually says paid in full but you can not demand that it does, well you can but you most likely will not get it, that cant change how these HUGE credit card companies report it, its all written by attorneys.
and to tell some one to demand that its been taken off your credit report ? this is crazy aswell, given i would love say this is all true but to send some one into battle with trying to save them alot of money by settling then demanding something that cant be done is bad.
when a settlement is reached itll either say 1. settled 2. paid and settled 3. settled and paid 4. paid for less than 5. paid 6. paid in full.
you cant demand what is already written by the attorneys at these Credit card agencies, and to top it off a collection agency cant change how the original creditor reports it.
good luck, if i were you id contact Discover hopefully your account is with a collection agency and try for a 20% settlement with 80% savings fyi. if the account goes to an attorney be lucky if you can get a 50%, try for 40% and always stick with your guns and never counter your own offer always wait for them.
I have check my credit and it is not with a collection agency. I
I have check my credit and it is not with a collection agency. I think that is weird. It is not with an attorney either. I want to just call them and hopefully they will settle because from what I am reading on this web site I have an up hill battle on my hands!!!!!
